What We Do

As we mentioned before, poverty comes in many shapes and forms, so, unfortunately, it is very difficult to tackle with one direct response. With this in mind, we are doing as much as we possibly can to approach our mission in the individual ways we have found to work best.

We run several projects which separately encompass our principal efforts to welcome, provide, pray and support;

• Dare 2 Care
• Hope Centre
• Wings ‘N’ Things
• Wings Cafe

Supper Club
A social club for ladies of all ages to meet up and share each other’s company. Supper Club meets the 3rd Wednesday night of every month at The Hope Centre at 7.30pm. There is usually a theme to each night with different guests coming along such as Avon or Pampered Chef. And there is always food!! If you would be interested in coming along please call in or call the office to ask about getting put onto the contact list.

Recycled Teenagers
65+ years old are invited along the 1st Wednesday afternoon of every month to The House of Hope from 2pm-4pm. Lifts can be arranged so call in and speak to a member of staff about coming along. We have lots of yummy food and reminisce on old stories, as well as going on day trips!

Mini wings
Our Mini Wings Afterschools Scheme runs three afternoons a week during term time. It is aimed at primary school children and takes place in our new premises at Wellington House in the Hope Center. Children are welcomed with a snack and then have an opportunity to complete homework before enjoying games, stories and songs. Mini Wings will be offering summer scheme activities again following the huge success of previous years. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more updates on Mini WIngs events.

Houses to Homes
Our creative team transform houses into home with the help of donations from the community. They work alongside families who need a helping hand to get their lives back on track. We can offer beds, duvets, paintings for the walls. Things we all sometimes take for granted. If you would be interested in donating items to this please contact the office, or alternatively if you have any skills which you think could contribute to the creative team, we are always looking for willing volunteers, especially men with drills and men with vans.

Our Counselling service is run from the Wellington House. If you feel this is something you could benefit from, please get in touch with our Compassion team who can advise you.
