Houses to Homes

As we have become increasingly involved with our local community it has become apparent to us that many people are living in cold shells of houses – sometimes children sleeping on mattresses on uncarpeted floors or young pregnant women sleeping on sofas. With the help of volunteers and by upcycling donated furniture from the local community we have been able to undertake a number of home makeover projects to improve the living conditions of our service users. Mental health improves dramatically when people have a nice space in which to live – a place to call home. New curtains, beds, floor coverings and redecoration can restore hope and a sense of pride.
